  My Story

I was fortunate enough to have one of my best friends from college share the ACN Opportunity with me at a time when I was looking for a second job.

I graduated in May 2006 with a degree in Civil Engineering and had been working with a reputable construction company for a little over a year.  About six months earlier, I had become a homeowner at the age of 21 and thought I had achieved all that there was to accomplish in life.

T
he aspiration of being able to only work one job, have fun, travel and spend time with family and friends, however, slowly dwindled as I found myself with more month at the end of the money and more responsibility than I was prepared to handle.

When I received a call from Detroit, Michigan, I can say I was a little surprised since my best friend and I live in Virginia.  She had attended an ACN convention, and I had no idea that she was out of the state.  She was extremely excited and simply put me on the phone with a gentleman she was working with who was 29 years old and was earning more in a month or two than I was earning in a year as an engineer.

I don't exactly remember the conversation we had, but he scheduled a call with me a couple days later to share 100% of the information with me.  I must say that I was somewhat skeptical and did think that it was “one of those things.” However, since my best friend referred me, I was willing to listen, but I had no intention of doing anything.

On June 12, 2007, about 7 pm, that all changed.  After about an hour speaking to that gentleman, it just made sense.  I didn't see any reason not to do it, and even more, I couldn't imagine passing up on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to change not only my life, but the life of my family.

ACN was the spark that ignited a new fire under me.  At a time where I didn't know anything other than working hard, I learned how to work smart.  At a place where I thought that exchanging time for money was the only way to earn income, I learned about residual income.  When I got involved with ACN, I only aspired to be able to earn additional money to cover my expenses. However, what I gained was a new philosophy, new disciplines, and the ability to be, do and have so much more than I had settled for.

Because of the mentors that I am learning from, the books I am reading, and the CDs I am listening to, I expect and demand so much more of myself. I am also committed to personally growing, not just in business, but also in life.  When I got started with ACN, it was like starting the first day of school.

Most of what I had learned up to that point had only prepared me to work a job and make a living; no one had shown me how to design a life and create a fortune.  I am truly grateful that my parents planted the seeds that kept me open-minded to other opportunities and had always encouraged my siblings and I not to just work a job for someone else for the next 30-40 years. Although my parents couldn't show me how, and I wasn't sure what else to do other than work a 9-5, I was open to something different.

ACN opened the possibility of living my dreams – not the dream I had settled for, but the dreams I never thought were possible.  Whether I make my fortune in ACN or not, there is one thing I can guarantee - wealth is just a matter of time, and failure is not an option.
